Rebranding and positioning a key player in the international space sector.

Strategic shift.

Space Norway’s recent acquisition of Telenor Satellite significantly expanded its operational scope and service offerings, positioning it as a key player in the international space industry. This strategic shift required a rebranding and re-positioning initiative that would unify the two organizations under a single, cohesive identity that communicated the new breadth of services, innovation, and mission-driven focus of the company.

The challenge was to encapsulate Space Norway’s extensive portfolio of satellite and communication services, its pioneering role in Northern Europe, and its commitment to innovation in a brand that would resonate with both local and international stakeholders, ranging from government agencies to commercial clients.

The acquisition of Telenor Satellite marked a significant milestone in the history of Space Norway, leading to a substantial expansion of our operations and capabilities. This development accelerated the need for a rebranding initiative to unify the two companies, communicate our united identity and expanded solutions, and embody our pursuit of innovation. Representing a key part of the Norwegian Government’s assets and activities in the space sector, Space Norway aims to strategically utilise space. The company is now identified as a Category 1 entity by the Norwegian Government.

We crafted a strategic rebranding approach that included an all-encompassing concept, “Space for More.” This concept was developed to reflect Space Norway’s mission to leverage space to safeguard, explore, and enrich society, while allowing room for future growth and service expansion.

Communication

We developed the “Space for More” concept to encapsulate the full scope of Space Norway’s capabilities and ambitions, establishing it as a unifying message across various media to engage a wide audience.

Serving as both a motto and a tagline, “Space for More” captures the company’s forward-thinking and professional identity, setting it apart from competitors.

We brought this tagline to life through a concept film that highlights Space Norway’s innovative spirit, also serving as an inspiring corporate film that resonates deeply with employees and reinforces their connection to the brand.

Furthermore, we have worked with Space Norway on their Tone of Voice and messaging.

Visual identity

Our design preserved legacy elements like the Orbit symbol while introducing a refreshed color palette and typography that symbolized innovation and professionalism, setting Space Norway apart in the space sector.

Stem Agency was entrusted with this strategically important undertaking and has been instrumental in reimagining Space Norway. We are extremely pleased with both the process and the outcome: standout branding, a new website, and elevated marketing assets that align perfectly with our ambition to stand proud as Northern Europe’s leading satellite operator.

Space Norway’s new website provides a streamlined and intuitive user experience, showcasing the company’s various sectors, solutions, projects, and infrastructure.

In close collaboration with the client, we developed a comprehensive menu and content structure, ensuring a cohesive visual expression across all elements. Utilizing 3D and animation, we present complex technical solutions and products in an accessible and engaging way, reflecting Space Norway’s focus on innovation and maintaining a consistent brand profile.

We contributed insights and advisory, UX and web design, in-house web development of frontend and backend code, content management, SEO analysis, and hosting of the technical solution.

Each step in this rebranding journey was aimed at not only representing Space Norway’s current strengths but also positioning it as an adaptable and innovative leader for the future. The result is a brand identity and communication platform that effectively conveys Space Norway’s ambition, growth, and commitment to innovation.
